Stop the tower at Anglia Square in Norwich
The proposed Anglia Square development - Norwich city centre (image: planning application documentation)
5 December 2018
In an urgent plea to Norwich City Council, we call on Councillors to stop a 20-storey tower in one Britain's best-preserved medieval cities.
The highly controversial Anglia Square scheme - which has triggered over 350 objections - is scheduled to go to Norwich's planning committee tomorrow on 6 December 2018. We strongly objected to this residential-led scheme by developers Columbia Threadneedle and Weston Homes Ltd within the city centre conservation area. We consider along with Historic England, the government's adviser on heritage, that this scheme would have an extensive and severe impact on the extraordinary historic character of Norwich.
