Fighting Fund
The Fighting Fund was established in 2015 and is designed to cover the costs of campaigning for Britain’s most endangered architectural heritage. For each campaign SAVE works with a team of experts, whose skills include legal advice, structural reports and/or help drawing up viable alternative schemes.
While SAVE is very fortunate to work with professionals in law, architecture, and planning, who offer their services at reduced rates, or pro bono, the costs of fighting lengthy cases can quickly grow. The Fighting Fund enables us to cover the expense of challenging bad planning decisions swiftly through legal means and by working with top architects to propose suitable alternative uses.
Our current campaigns supported by the Fighting Fund are Richmond House on Whitehall in London and Anglia Square in Norwich. Richmond House, a 30 year old grade II* listed building, is set to be demolished, save the front façade, to make way for a temporary House of Commons. In the centre of Medieval Norwich we are right now fighting proposals at a public inquiry that would see the re-development of Anglia Square to include a 20 storey tower and blocks of 4-12 storeys.
We need the Fighting Fund so we can undertake large scale campaigns and donating is a fantastic way to give to a key aspect of SAVE’s core work. Please click here to make a donation to The Fighting Fund.
Past Campaigns, supported by the Fighting Fund:
Smithfield General Market, London
SAVE would like to thank everyone who has donated to our campaigns. We would not have been able to fight for these threatened buildings without your support.
