Public meeting announcement: ‘Fresh Thinking: What’s the Future for Brandon Station’s Historic Building?’
Friday 14 June | 10.30am - 12.00pm | Brandon Church Hall, 50 London Road, Brandon, Suffolk IP27 0HY
SAVE will be attending a public meeting on 14 June, originally convened by former MP for West Suffolk Matt Hancock and now led by Brandon Town Councillor David Palmer, to discuss the future and opportunities for Brandon Station’s historic railway building.
Speakers include:
- Tim Hedley-Jones, Executive Director of the Railway Heritage Trust
- Piers Hart, Chairman of Suffolk Building Preservation Trust
- Lydia Franklin, Assistant Conservation Officer for SAVE Britain’s Heritage
The building, which has been empty and unused for many years, was recently saved from demolition, and awarded grade II listed status. Many different parties have shown a keen interest in working together to find a long-term solution for this important building. This meeting is an opportunity for the community to help resolve this longstanding issue and help find it a new use.
We welcome this public meeting as an opportunity to collectively find the best solution for the Station House’s future.
Are you local to Brandon? Please join us and take part in this discussion at 10.30am on Friday 14 June, Brandon Church Hall (IP27 0HY). Speaker presentations will precede an open discussion. Tea and coffee will be served.
