SAVE in the news - September 2024

SAVE’s call to list Southwark Station attracted much attention with articles appearing in Time Out, The Standard, Building Design and Country Life. SAVE’s Buildings at Risk Officer Liz Fuller was quoted in Architect’s Journal in an article about the extent of listed building enforcement notices handed out to property owners over damaging, unauthorised changes.

 

The Guardian mentioned SAVE’s Manchester report in an article celebrating a new heritage attraction in the north. SAVE’s founder and president, Marcus Binney’s 80th birthday was celebrated by the The Times. SAVE’s petition to protect Scottish heritage was featured in Glasgow Live in connection with the demolition of the 02 ABC.

 

The Malvern Gazette mentioned SAVEs efforts to protect the much loved Walmer Lodge, a Victorian Villa in Greater Malvern, and The Past featured a lavish piece on Warwick Rodwell’s book about saving a building he found in a SAVE Buildings at Risk catalogue. SAVE’s objection was noted by Building Design in an article detailing the latest developments in the Bloomsbury Tower planning battle.
