SAVE Walking Tour of Bradford-on-Avon, Wiltshire
Saturday 1st October | 12.00 – 14.00
Join SAVE and Trustee Timothy Cantell on a walking tour of Bradford-on-Avon. One of the Six English Towns (second group) selected by Alec Clifton-Taylor for his famous TV series, so ranking alongside Berwick and Warwick, Bradford-on-Avon is a gem, boasting a wealth of history to see from a Saxon church to 17th-century mills, from a 14th-century tithe barn to a 1930s collector’s item.
Nonetheless the town had a conservation battle as early as the 1950s and has not been free of controversy since. A fascinating tour (also hilly – the Cotswolds here peep into Wiltshire) is promised.
