WALKING TOUR - The Eastern City of London
11.00 – 13.00, Saturday 26th March 2022
Starting at Liverpool Street Station and finishing at Tower Hill, former conservation principal Alec Forshaw will lead us through the eastern part of the City of London and the locations of two important recent SAVE cases at Bevis Marks and the Custom House. We will also traverse the extraordinary tall buildings cluster, largely built over the last 20 years, including the ‘Gherkin’, ‘Cheesegrater’, ‘Scalpel’ and ‘Walkie-Talkie’.
Alec Forshaw is the author of New City: Contemporary Architecture in the City of London and has led several other London walks for SAVE in recent years.
Tickets: £14 for Friends and Saviours/£18 for Members of the Public
Meeting point: Kindertransport Memorial(by McDondalds), south side of Liverpool Street station, London.
End point: Tower Hill Underground Station.
