Join SAVE and Jon Hooton, former chair of the Norwich Society on a special guided walking tour of Norwich’s public houses of the Cathedral Quarter. The city once boasted one pub for every day of the year, and pub detective Jon will lead a guided walk through Norwich’s oldest district. The Cathedral Quarter was settled by the Vikings and Anglo-Saxons before being re-designed by the Normans. Between the 1870s and 1890s there were an estimated 600 pubs within the historic city walls, compared to around 80 that exist today.

The tour begins at the Adam and Eve, which is believed to be the oldest public house in the city and will follow the city's winding medieval streets past a range of other pubs. The walk will end at the Maids Head Hotel in Tombland, the city's oldest Inn.
